My siblings have five kids each. I have five cats.
The senior member of the feline household is Agnes, the Cheese Thief. She has cancer but is doing unexpectedly well on her meds. When we got the diagnosis, I started giving her tidbits off the dinner table. Six months later… you guessed it. She sits next to me at the table and touches my arm until I surrender the cheesy comestibles.
And then there’s Sammy the Diva, AKA Jerome or J-Ro. He’s always ready for his closeup.
When Aggie and Sammy first met, she wanted to kick his darling wee arse. But now? BFF’s!
Vivian is the quiet, gentle one. She really would rather be an Onlycat. But she spent two years in a shelter cage, so she loves having a forever home.
The two youngest are Winnie and Aubrey. They arrived last February, also from the shelter. For months Winnie was terrified of everyone and everything. Aubrey was less traumatized and more outgoing. Both are doing fine now!
Winnie’s still a little suspicious of sudden movements and camera flashes.
When I was a girl, I dreamed of having a big house full of cats. How lovely that my dream has come true.
Ha ha, Vivian looks like a Don! Love the ‘persuasion paw’ 🙂
Yes, Agnes is very persuasive. And if she fails at persuasion, she moves on to thieving. All plates must be guarded while she is around.
Lovely! So flurry huggable them all! Vivian is simply lovely and Sammy is a star! 🙂
Lynx, our previous fat-cat, was mad for parmigiano 😀 And olives… a true Mediterranean! 🙂
I see the training’s gone well…! 😉
Aw, the little darlings 🙂
🙂
Aw, lovely… I’ve got two cats – and two kids. I am a dog person, and I never would’ve thought that I’d warm to the cats so much. They are personalities in their own right, and if anything happened to them, I’d be devastated.
Yes, somehow they do that to you. The Long Suffering Husband only had dogs as a kid, but he fell in love with the first cats we got and has been hooked ever since 🙂
For me, it was always cats!
What a fabulous collection of cats LM. Each with their own distinct personality. Whilst I am more of a ‘dogger’ person (maybe because I am slightly ‘cat damaged’ due to one of our family cats giving birth on my bed when I was a wee tacker), I am an admirer of other people’s cats. After all, we love who we love. (Plus, footage of cats doing adorable things on ‘t’internet’ is startingly addictive.)
Many thanks! I have to stay away from cat videos if I want to get anything done. I would have loved it if a cat gave birth on my bed when I was little. We did have a momma kitty, but I didn’t get to see the process.
I guess it means that the cat thought your room was the safest and best place in the house 🙂
They’re all very beautiful… how lucky to have a childhood dream come true! 🙂
Thank you very much, Kev!
I envy you your kitties. These are little beauties.
Thanks! I look forward to seeing them every day 🙂 What would we do without our animal friends?
What a lovely post!!!
Thank you so much. They are my sweethearts 🙂
