This easy drinking wine ($20) has an excellent aroma of honey and apple and tastes rich and somewhat sweet, with oak in the mouth. There’s enough acid to make it refreshing, but I recommend it for those who prefer a sweeter white. The combination of sweetness and oak is not something I’d go for every night, yet I enjoyed this wine. It’s bursting with flavor. Meiomi also makes a Pinot Noir, which would be well worth a try.
The Meiomi winery produces blends of grapes grown in Sonoma, Monterey and Santa Barbara. Chuck Wagner, the winemaker for Meiomi, is a fifth-generation viticulturist in California. And I must say, he’s easy on the eyes.
Nice photo LM! Both wine and maker are easy on the eye.
Yes, I have quite a little hobby now of investigating the winemakers 🙂 A handsome lot they are!
Well, now, with all this leftover turkey–and I’m one of those folks who only grows weary of leftover turkey somewhere around mid December–this sounds like it may pair well with a few of the more savory dishes I’d like to make. The combination sounds winning, as long as you find the right food to balance it with.
It’s on the list.
We must keep those virile vintners in business, eh?
Virile vintners! Love it, Shelley.
I’m with you on the turkey. I actually buy extra Tofurky to roast so I can have leftovers 🙂
