Who says bald is less Beautiful? If a gentleman is fighting a losing battle against genetics, he should shave his head. (And as we see from this video of 51-year old Mark Strong in the Young Vic’s “A View From the Bridge,” working out doesn’t hurt).
This vid knocked my knickers off.
I love Mark Strong! A few years ago he was my main crush (RA and I were on a break). It’s typical though, isn’t it, that hair loss, one of the few things society deemed unattractive in men has now become sexy. I swear if men developed extra nipples once they hit “a certain age” then we’d all be swooning over that too! How do they get away with it while I’m still dying the grey outta my hair?!?!
I agree. It is totally unfair. But in a strange way, if one gender has to have the advantage, I would rather it be men who are still attractive so that I can enjoy them 🙂 I have never been into young men, even when I was young myself.
Still it is sad to become invisible after a certain age. I don’t know whether it is nature, culture, or both.
You make a very good point. I was so caught up in my anger that I forgot to be greatful for the blessing of hot older men.
They are indeed a blessing we can enjoy every day 🙂 And a few of them even appreciate a woman their own age!
I saw this play last month. Not in the Young Vic, but in a cinema in Belfast. The play was broadcast live into cinemas as part of ‘NT Live’. Mark Strong was amazing. So intense – I don’t know how he can act like that in each performance.
I’ve just found about about the NT Live events–they have them here too, but one must drive an hour. In his case, I think it would be well worth the trip 🙂
Oh – definitely worth it. I’m a big fan of NT Live. Even when I’m just sitting in a cinema watching a screen, it feels different. The camera work is excellent, so you don’t just see the stage as a fixed set – there are plenty of close-ups of the actors. Which will suit you if you want to see more of Mark Strong’s shaved head!
I would definitely like to see more of Mark Strong 🙂
Last night in London Mark Strong won an Olivier award for his role in A View from the Bridge, and the play and director won awards too.
Ah, the poor Richard Armitage fans will be disappointed. But it was an amazing field of actors!
Ah if all baldies could be strong. . 🙂 i think it is all in the eyes which stand out even more…
Yes, his physiognomy is very good. I suppose not everyone can have that. But I do think that when the hair goes, there is no point trying to hide it!!
So agree it is the hiding that is silly they are still the same men aa before! Those who care if they are bald or not are not worth worrying about 🙂
I think it’s hard for them, but men have so many advantages over women and are judged so much less on looks (especially as they age) that I find it difficult to be sympathetic.
Yeah, I would 😉
You’d what? Like to see more of Mr. Strong’s bald head? Hee, hee.
Um, yeah, that’s what I meant 😉
Mr. Strong, the omniscent presence in my DVD library. I strongly suggest you to hear Mr. Strong this BBC Radio Drama, an adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s “Victory”.

Steel panties are strongly suggested when hearing this clip. 😀
Steel panties!! LOL. I’ll have to wait until I’m home from work 🙂
