This is a classic Marlborough SB ($15.95), with the signature grapefruit, lemon and floral aromas, very noticeable even straight from the fridge. I found it a bit more acidic than other Marlboroughs, but it is pleasant with a light supper on a warm summer evening. I wish I could bathe in the stuff.
Drylands comes from the oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in New Zealand, pioneered by Darryl Woolley.
I just got back from NZ and didn’t see this anywhere but I will keep my eyes peeled. I am a bit over ‘overly grassy’ sav blancs but always willing to try one based on a recommendation. Imagine a whole bath full of wine, Crikey!
Yes, a bath–that’s my fantasy! And I also want someone to read to me from Julia Child’s works while I’m in the tub 🙂
🙂 sounds very refreshing and fragrant! 🙂 and lovely with a summer salad 🙂
Yes, a good pairing. Summer salad with apricots, some goat cheese, and a bathtub of Sauv Blanc!
