I have so many things for which to be thankful. One of them is that I was born into a world that contained Marvin Gaye.

Some of my earliest memories of pleasurable music involve “Heard It Through the Grapevine” and an AM radio. Then the sounds that crystallized the Seventies for me as a child, “Mercy Mercy Me” and especially “What’s Going On.” The relaxed but intensely sensual vibe of Marvin singing “Let’s Get It On,” and “Sexual Healing” ushered me into adulthood.

Marvin has always been part of the soundtrack of my life. Now there’s a movie coming out about his life. Hope they do you justice, Beautiful Man!
